Jonathan G. Newsome, a sales veteran who specialized in plastics injection molding technology, died unexpectedly on July 17. He was 54 years old. Jon's career included more than 30 years in the plastics industry, where he held positions managing sales at large companies such as Battenfeld, Milacron, and Krauss-Maffei. In 2005 he was hired by RJG Inc. as sales manager for the East Coast. Co-workers describe him as an old-school salesman who would not take no for an answer, RJG said in a news release. "Jon's no-nonsense attitude and witty sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him." Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Jon was currently residing with his family in Kintnersville, Pa. Jon is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marlene, and his three children, Grant, Alexandra, and Madeline. "He loved his job, his customers, racing, and a good bottle of Scotch. But, his true love was his family. Jon considered his three greatest accomplishments to be his children," RJG said in the release. A memorial service will be held for immediate family members only. An education fund for Jon's children has been established. Checks can be made out to The Newsome Children Educational Fund and mailed to TD Bank, One Royal Road, Flemington, NJ 08822. | |
