Integral Technologies Inc. has debuted new conductive filler/reinforcements.
The Canton, Mich., company says new products in its ElectriPlast lineup combine performance and cost effectiveness in lightweight electrical shielding that can replace metal components.
Integral says two types of conductive fillers will help customers choose the right protection for molded components in consumer electronics, medical equipment and other applications. The first is carbon fiber tow or ribbon with 12,000 and 24,000 bundled carbon filaments in an inner core. The second is copper-plated carbon fiber.
Integral claims the fillers are compatible with most thermoplastics, including ABS, nylon 66, polybutylene terephthalate, polycarbonate and polypropylene. The unplated product is a lower-cost choice for lightweight EMI shielding. Integral subsidiary ElectriPlast Corp. can supply the reinforcements in compounded resin pellets.
