Aubright Inc., a plastics fabricator in St. Cloud, Minn., has introduced a clear enclosure for food packaging machinery.
Food packaging applications require enclosures that promote cleanliness, will tear down easily and fit the look of a modern factory.
Aubright developed the enclosure for Douglas Machine, which was building a faster, more-accurate packaging machine for a major maker of snack chips.
The chip maker’s past enclosure used a stainless steel frame with bolted-on Lexan polycarbonate panels. It took a half hour to tear down, and hard corners and gaps could harbor bacteria and dirt, according to Aubright.
The Aubright design is a round, drape-formed polycarbonate enclosure, with a sweep on the bottom to support cleanliness.
