Japanese car parts maker Yazaki Corp. has unveiled plans to open two new production facilities in Romania, reported local business daily Ziarul Financiar.
Under the plan, the factories will be launched in Brăila and Urlaţi, both located in the country’s southern Prahova county.
Production at the plant in Urlaţi is to be carried out on a floorspace of more than 12,000 square meters. Following the launch of the factory this year, the plant will be operated by an initial workforce of up to 150.
The Susono-based firm makes a wide range of automotive components, including cables and wire harnesses manufactured with the use of various plastics, such as PVC and PE, according to data released by Yazaki. In addition to this, the company's product portfolio includes plastic tubes and PVC adhesive tapes.
Currently, Yazaki's Romanian subsidiary operates four production facilities in the local market and employs 4,700 workers. The company says it owns 18 manufacturing plants with a global workforce of more than 30,000 employees. |
