At K 2013, Battenfeld Cincinnati will show a compact coextrusion system for running recycled materials inside of a window profile made of virgin resin. The Vienna-based company will show a onEX 63 P conical twin-screw extruder mounted, piggyback style, on a twinEX 78-34P. The two extruders are counter-rotating twin-screw extruders. Both extruders are equipped with standard energy-saving features. The two extruders share a common control cabinet. In some cases, recycled materials make up 40 percent of the total weight of the window, used were they are not visible, according to Battenfeld Cincinnati. The window profile line can achieve an output of about 500 kilograms an hour ((1,100 pounds). The company’s North American operation, Battenfeld-Cincinnati USA, is based in McPherson, Kan.
