SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (March 13, 12:45 p.m. ET) -- A new coalition of polyethylene film producers, recyclers, consumers and end users aims to find ways to effectively use domestically recycled and certified post-consumer PE.
The nascent California-focused PE Plastics Recycling Coalition is recruiting members and developing a strategy to boost awareness and demand for the resin and related products.
“We are still in the early stages of formation,” said Margo Reid Brown.
She wrote about plans for the coalition in the February issue of “WPA Today,” the newsletter of the Sacramento-based Western Plastics Association.
Brown is president of the environmental strategy consulting firm Capital Ideas Development Associates Inc. in Sacramento. She was a director at the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery for 13 months and chair of the California Integrated Waste Management Board for four years. |
