OAKLAND, TENN. (Feb. 23, 1:10 p.m. ET) -- With an investment of over $5 million, Ring Container Technologies announced construction of a new facility in Modesto, Calif.

The plant will add up to 100,000 square feet and will blow mold high density polyethylene and PET containers for the food industry for edible oils, snack food and confections.

The plant, Ring’s first PET manufacturing venture on the West Coast, will give jobs to 24 employees to start, all new hires. The target date for getting the facility up and running is May 2012.

The Oakland, Tenn.-based blow molder chose Modesto for its proximity to customer locations. The plant will include Graham wheel and Nissei equipment.

Earlier this year, Ring invested nearly $8 million in its South Carolina facility, for an additional 18 employees and new injection molding and blow molding lines.

And the company is not stopping there.

“Potentially, we have two other [facility expansions] starting later this year,” said Brian Smith, director of sales and market development.

Smith attributes the company’s massive expansion to “industry leading technology and long-term partnerships with customers.”

Ring Container Technologies is a division of Ring Cos., a privately held multinational corporation with 22 locations in the United States and Canada.
