Ring Container invests in equipment in South Carolina

OAKLAND, TENN. (Feb. 9, 4:10 p.m. ET) -- Blow molder Ring Container Technologies Corp. is investing $7.89 million in its Chester, S.C., plant, including new injection molding and blow molding lines.

The company also plans to add 18 new employees.

Equipment purchases include a Husky perform injection press, and Sidel and Nissei blow molding machines.

The equipment will make containers for dressings, sauces, oil and salty snacks.

The Oakland, Tenn.-based container blow molder makes PET bottles for ConAgra Foods, Del Monte, Unilever and Utz.

Ring also operates high-output wheel blow molding machines from Graham Engineering.

In addition to the Chester facility and corporate headquarters, Ring has 17 locations in the United States including two in Arkansas, two in Georgia, three in Illinois, and two in California. The company also operates international facilities in Alberta, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Ring ranked 15th in Plastics News’ most recent survey of North American blow molders, with estimated sales of $260 million.
